Actions for young people under the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI)

The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) is one of the most important EU funding projects. https://bit.ly/3MbYM0U

It funds apprenticeships, training, work experience in private companies, youth entrepreneurship, counselling & certification in cutting-edge specialities, pre-employment for the smooth integration of young people into the labour market through 7-month employment, special business grant schemes for the creation of new jobs as well as specific actions for the integration of young people with disabilities through training and counselling.

A prerequisite for participation in the actions is registration in the unemployment registers of OAED - Organisation for Employment of Labour Resources

These actions aim at:

address the ever-increasing unemployment of young people who are out of employment, education or training; and

to integrate them into the labour market through targeted interventions according to the needs of each age group (15-18, 18-24, 24-29)

The following actions for young people outside education, training and the labour market (NEETs) are being implemented in the current period; for the next programming period 2021-2027, actions worth €1 billion are planned for young people outside education, training and the labour market.

In the second quarter of 2022, calls for young people outside education, training and the labour market for the following actions are imminent:

Work Experience Programme in the Digital Economy for 3,900 unemployed young people up to 29 years old

Special Employment Inclusion Actions for young people with disabilities

Programme for the granting of grants to 3,000 young self-employed persons for employment initiatives with a focus on the Digital Economy

In the second half of 2022, calls for young people outside education, training and the labour market are expected to be issued for the following actions:

Integrated vocational empowerment and labour market integration intervention for young people up to 29 years old in the agri-food sector

Skills acquisition for unemployed women up to 29 years of age with a view to their employability in selected sectors of the economy

Counselling, Training and Certification of unemployed 18-29 year olds in specialities of the Tourism Industry

Pilot Programme for Training, Counselling, Consulting and Certification of unemployed persons in the sectors of activity of the Blue Economy

Integrated intervention of professional empowerment and labour market integration for young people up to 29 years of age in the development of digital skills in Culture

Integrated action to facilitate the labour integration of 600 refugees aged 18-29 years old

Integrated Interventions to enhance knowledge and skills of unemployed young graduates up to 29 years old in dynamic sectors of the growth model of the economy

Integrated Intervention for professional development and labour market integration for young people up to 29 years old

Integrated intervention for the professional empowerment and labour market integration of young unemployed people aged 18 to 29 years old in specialisations in the Book sector

Integrated Intervention for Counselling, Training and Certification of unemployed persons aged 18-29 in private security services.
